John Tanet is a Galveston-born writer with a personal passion for history, nature, horror and the unknown. They graduated from Tulane University in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.

Their journalism career started at 3 News in Corpus Christi, Texas, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now based in Phoenix, Arizona, John frequently works with local experts to uncover the lesser known facets of the state’s cultural and ecological landscape.

They are currently a digital journalist at 12News, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix.

Outside of work, John is a hiker, voracious reader, unapologetic Astros fan and all-around movie geek. Their favorites are Stephen King’s ‘The Dark Tower’ series and John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing.’
